I love painting with watercolours. It’s something I’ve been doing for over 40 years. Almost half of that time has been spent living by the sea, 16 years of which have been spent on the Isle of Man.
I’m particularly interested in capturing sunlight, especially on buildings. Painting shadows is important to my art practice. The shapes and colours they produce fascinate me.
I’ve recently been working on Pen and watercolour paintings. Drawing with waterproof ink gives an effect that appeals to me. It’s something I plan to continue to develop
My watercolours have been exhibited in galleries on the Isle of Man and in England. Since moving to the East Yorkshire coast in 2018, my paintings have been selected for Open Exhibitions at the Ferens Gallery, Hull, the Treasure House, Beverley, and Patchings Art Centre, Nottinghamshire. A feature on my art was published in Leisure Painter magazine in August 2022.
